A very Busy Week in Spain
Hard to believe it’s been a week since my last write-up. One set of neighbours has gone off to France for a while and others have appeared as often happens this time of year – so we’ve been busy catching up, partying, working on the hot-tub and made a discovery that might help our water supply.
Flushed with the success of my first attempt at heating the hot-tub on solar, achieving temperatures up to 38c, I’ve been putting together a new version based on 100metres of black irrigation pipe…
…about 80 metres of which is now nicely coiled up and placed on top of the pergola. That’s just about done now, just waiting for a couple of temperature sensors to arrive from the UK to compare incoming and outgoing temperatures to control the pump.
Meanwhile Maureen and I have visited more pools and yesterday we went back to Tijola with friends Karen and Dave where we had lunch by the pool – a little more crowded this time – but then it is the start of August festivities – the water doesn’t look quite so enticing when it is full of kids. On our way we popped into “Commercial Morino” a great hardware store where we discovered very inexpensive water filters which hopefully will solve the “orange grit” issue with the water supply.
Last night on our return after a brief shopping trip to Baza, Galera had the annual (brief) fireworks display at midnight. Short but spectacular.
Today we’re picking up relatives in central Granada and that will start a whole new round of catching up. In the coming weeks we have various friends visiting – I don’t remember such a busy time – add to that various software products I’m working on (https://tech.scargill.net) and all of this makes for keeping very busy indeed.
