What’s this about?
This is the Spanish website for Peter and Maureen Scargill. When in Spain we live in Galera in Andalusia (for clarify that is the English spelling - Mid-Spain they spell it Andalucia and pronounce it "And-a-loo-thee-a").

We've had a home in Spain for a decade or more and now we're spending a lot more time here.

If you're familiar with what3words (if you're not now you soon will be) we live at dossier.bath.sawn

Find out more about this by reading through the blog entries, menu-accessible pages and archives if you're interested! Welcome to Peter and Maureen's Spanish website.

Last Sunsets of the Year

Hilltops in Galera

Last of the Spanish sunsets for us for a little while, we’re off back to the rain at the weekend, hopefully not for too long – the weather prospects for the Northeast of England in October are not good. This Spanish summer (aside from the odd flood and scorching hot August) has been special. When we first came here 11 years ago, who could have thought we’d come to think of the area as home. In all that time, many have come and gone but we’ve stayed and made friends along the way. In our absence we have great neighbours and trustworthy cameras, so the place should be in great shape for our return. Now, if I could just say something nice about the reliability of our electric supply, I would, but I can’t.

Tonight, Karin, Dave, Maureen and I took Simba, Ruffy and Percy for a nice walk to one of the “seats”up at the higher local peaks.
