What’s this about?
This is the Spanish website for Peter and Maureen Scargill. When in Spain we live in Galera in Andalusia (for clarify that is the English spelling - Mid-Spain they spell it Andalucia and pronounce it "And-a-loo-thee-a").

We've had a home in Spain for something like 9 years or more and now we're spending a lot more time here.

If you're familiar with what3words (if you're not now you soon will be) we live at concert.sloths.seating

Find out more about this by reading through the blog entries, menu-accessible pages and archives if you're interested! Welcome to Peter and Maureen's Spanish website.

Pool by Pool

Another in the series “Spain, pool by pool” – yesterday we went off to Tijola – which in case you didn’t know, is along the A-334 heading east from Baza  -  and discovered this beauty..

pool

Bamboo changing roomsFor those like me who like Sat-Navs – here are the coordinates as it is out of town – 37.37361,-2.4495922.

The pool is called Fuente De Cela and is surrounded by restaurants and a small park area, not to mention the best changing rooms you have ever seen – made out of bamboo!!

The pool is free and open all the time – you can park right next to it and the whole thing has a very cosy feel to it. I think we counted 5 restaurants in view. Definitely going back there.

We met and chatted with a really nice family before settling down for a good soak.  Not the prettiest blue water you’ve ever seen and there are some tiny fish in there but non-the-less a very nice way to spend an afternoon. The area is called Barriada De Cela and as you head east on the A-334 – it’s a LEFT where Tijola is on your right.

We also had a drive through Tijola, their pool can’t be seen from the road which is a bit dumb so I could not tell you if it was any good or not.

Train[6]

On the way back we took a drive around and through Seron – can’t think of anything to say about it – likely won’t pop in there next time we’re at the pool.

And of COURSE we popped into the garden centre near Caniles on the way back to Baza and then on to Galera.
