What’s this about?
This is the Spanish website for Peter and Maureen Scargill. When in Spain we live in Galera in Andalusia (for clarify that is the English spelling - Mid-Spain they spell it Andalucia and pronounce it "And-a-loo-thee-a").

We've had a home in Spain for something like 9 years or more and now we're spending a lot more time here.

If you're familiar with what3words (if you're not now you soon will be) we live at dossier.bath.sawn

Find out more about this by reading through the blog entries, menu-accessible pages and archives if you're interested! Welcome to Peter and Maureen's Spanish website.

Restaurante UFE

Debbie and MaureenLast night we visited Restaurante Ufe for the first time in outer Huescar. It took us a little while to get the street right and I commented that it made me think of one of those streets in Mexico where you might expect your car tires to last mere moments in your absence before being replaced by bricks.

However, looks can be deceiving, we parked up and went into the restaurant – or rather to the enclosed area outside the restaurant, complete with bar which has TONS of atmosphere.

Not the cheapest restaurant, all four of us that the price of our night out was a little on the high side – but very nice regardless as hopefully the pictures show. We arrived just in time for the most fabulous sunset and the entire night was comfortably warm outside.

Just behind the area you see above is another shaded area probably suitable for parties and dance – Ufe[10]last night this was completely empty and there was a nice, quiet atmosphere though the restaurant too was empty and there were just a few people outside with us.

Anyway if you’re interested, here is the link for Google maps to Restaurante UfE in Huescar – might save you a little trouble if you are in the area and want to give it a try.

Today I was up early in the morning and went for a short walk over the hills. 7am or so the builders were up and in action and a lone dog decided to wake up the entire village of Galera just as the sun was coming up.

Galera

With the weather back to normal, today could see a trip to one of the pools still open (some are only open for the main summer season) – possibly Orce.
